Tilly Webley

Tilly webley a young designer from Gloucestershire.

‘Hi, my name is Tilly, I am local to the Tewkesbury area as I live on the outskirts towards Cheltenham. I have been interested in sewing since I was a little girl, saying ‘Mumma I want to sew’ while watching my Mum darning. I sewed little outfits for my toys while I was small but became more fascinated with making things for humans during my GCSE’s. After A Levels I completed a Art Foundation Diploma and went on to study Costume and Performance Design(BA) at The Arts University Bournemouth Graduating 2018.

The dress I made is a replica outfit form a photograph of Elizabeth Feodorovna. She was a Princess, granddaughter of Queen Victoria and married to Grand Duke Serge of Russia. She was an inspirational woman who later(after her assassination in 1917) became a Saint. This outfit was created for my final University project with all the silk sourced from Beckford.
