Description
The Bauhaus was founded in Weimar (Germany) in 1919 by the architect Walter
Gropius. It was, until it closed in 1933, the most influential art school in Europe. It
attracted famous painters such as Paul Klee and Kandinsky to lecture there.
Subjects taught were varied and included fine art, industrial design, architecture,
textiles, interior design and typography.
