Grip the flat round metal area with your thumb and finger, push the looped wire through the eye of the needle. Then put your thread through the wire hoop, leaving a good amount of thread. Then pull the threader back through the needle to where you started.
Makes threading a lot easier because you can feel the wire loop going through the needles eye.
