Description
A British movement founded by Rodger Fry in 1913 to make painted furniture,
frescos, textiles and other household objects.
Their country retreat in Sussex, The Charleston Farmhouse, was home to the
painters Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant.
My design Lily Pond was based on a painted table top depicting the pond at
Charleston. My preparatory drawings were done by the side of a lily pond just two
villages away from Beckford.
