Angus McBean is renowned for revolutionising theatre photography in the late 1930s. By the outbreak of the Second World War he had established himself as the country’s leading theatre photographer. He later became official photographer for the Stratford Memorial Theatre. In 1963 he photographed the Beatles for their debut album cover.
