Description
Heavy weight crepe-de-chine at 128gms per sq. metre is one of the heaviest pure silk fabrics that we stock. It has more of a matt finish than the medium weight crepe but is ideal for making skirts and tops. Like the medium weight crepe, it is a joy to cut and sew.

Very sturdy, densely-woven silk, almost more a crepe marocain than a crepe de chine. Crackles with stiffness when new. Becomes wonderfully soft and supple as you work with it and wear it. Most stains come out easily by softly and patiently rubbing them with a bit of leftover fabric. Order the swatch card before you order a colour, the colours are much more vibrant than the website can show. Also note that the swatch card uses the lighter crepe de chine. The heavier crepe de chine takes more dye than the lighter one, so the colour does turn out darker.
